Student Sponsors

Role of a Sponsor

One of last year’s graduates wrote, “My sponsor wrote me a letter when I was having trouble with school. He really encouraged me to keep working. I hope to be in a position to be a VSP sponsor in the future.”

A Visitation Scholarship Program Sponsor commits to fund part of the tuition for a recipient for four years in a Catholic High School. They also commit themselves to attending VSP activities involving sponsors, to write within two weeks after receiving student’s communications regarding their academic progress, and to remember special occasions in the life of the student.

In turn, each recipient makes a commitment to their sponsor. They pledge to strive for academic excellence, good attendance and active participation in the program. They communicate regularly with the sponsor and express gratitude for the assistance provided for them.
